Farewell Fall

I know that it is still technicaly fall, but since most of the brighlty colured leaves have dropped to the ground and have been swept up by the wind, it seems to me that the glories of the season have passed. It's when the leaves are their brightest and boldest that it truly feels atumunal. I had a wonderful October and felt that God blessed with enjoying all the season has to offer... and now on to winter and Christmas!

Latest update on long awaited Phantom sequel

Andrew Lloyd Webber today confirmed future plans for Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.

“I am delighted to confirm that following a successful sing-through of the complete score of  “Love Never Dies” (the sequel to “The Phantom of the Opera”) in the lead-up to Christmas, I have decided to greenlight the production.  Of course you never can tell how things will turn out, but we are exploring the idea of opening the show in the UK, America and the Far East in the autumn of 2009.   This is a very exciting idea but obviously we have to see that it is logistically possible.

As reported in today’s edition of the “The Times” I can also confirm that “Love Never Dies”  is set in America’s Coney Island approximately ten years after the beginning of the original story.   In those days Coney Island was one of the wonders of the world,  far eclipsing the excesses of Las Vegas today.   The story continues the tale of the Phantom, Raoul, Christine, Madame Giry and Meg.”

I've heard rumors of this for awhile but this is from the offiical Phantom site, check under "News" and I am so excited that it's finaly in the works!  This was the first play I saw on Broadway my very first time in New York. It's such a tragicaly beatiful story that I am so looking forward to seeing it contiuned! And yes, I know Phantom dies in the book, but I'm not bothered if they want to change that. : )

Twilight [Theatrical Release]

I don't care what the New York Post says, Twilight was a wonderful movie!

Before I even got to see the Twilight movie I read a reveiw of it in the New York Post. I had several problems with the artcle and not just because they gave the movie a bad reveiw but of how the review was given. First off, I could tell the author had not read the book, which I would imagain to be quite vital in revewing it's movie, espically when the author made several critisems that the book discredited. One line read something close to, "If Bella had lived in another time she would have read ( insert author's name I did not recongive) but now she is content to have an emo ring tone." The book makes it clear that Bella is a prolific reader, in fact Pride and Predujudice was the inspiration behind the book.  Also, the article kept comparing the moving to some Vamp tv show I had never heard of, True Blood.  My good freind Mary informrmed that it was a short lived series, Comparison is a big NO when it comes to reveiws becouse if your readers are not familar with what the reviwed film is being compared to, then that aprt of the article becomes as gibberish to them.

The article went on to poke fun at Bella and Edward's lack of physical contact. "The Ten Commands was more racy."  The article made fun of the fact that when there making out became too serouse Edward pushed her away. One, Bella is a teenager, she should not go beyond kissing, two Edward is a man, well vampire , of great moral fiber. He knows premartial sex to be WRONG, also considering his thirst for human blood, intimacy is not a good thing.  Later on in the article, however, the prom secen is congradulated for all the teen keeping their clothes on. So, what did the reviewer want, sex or no sex in this movie?

I LOVEDthe movie and found it to be romantic, thrilling, and funny at times. A wonderful companion to the book. Mary enjoyed it as well and wants to read the book. I recomand both to anyone who loves a good story. The books have excallent illusions to classic literature and the first movie was the best vampire movie I have seen in a very , very long time.
